Working at the Ministry has been exhausting, but also really freeing eye-opening. You lot need to know so much goes on to keep our world spinning. I'm proud of most the work going on there.

I failed hi--- I wish he was here right now because he'd have something to say to make us all feel better, but he's not so all I can do is express how sorry I feel about the latest tragedy. I wanted to take this time to thank the staff and Professors for their time and encouragement over the years. I especially want to thank the Headmistress for affording me the opportunity to act as Head Boy. It hasn't always been the easiest honor, but it will forever remain a most brilliant challenge.
I also want to thank my fellow students and wish them well on exams. To those of you remaining behind, please don't take Hogwarts for granted and, most importantly, don't forget that Helga Hufflepuff's ideals are nothing to scoff at.
I will miss you.

I suppose I can understand how the Ministry's passed the laws. It seems war makes people forget about their humanity. However, as Head Boy, I do ask you to consider others before writing or saying something. Clearly, there are wounds on both sides and no one's asking anyone to hold hands and run off together. The Headmistress, staff, Prefects, Head Girl, and myself have struggled with this in the creation of the on going projects. I've seen the rewards and I ask no one lose sight of that. And to remember that there was talent on both sides. I might not have supported He W--- Voldemort, but there's no denying he was a damn good wizard. He used it for the wrong reasons, but that doesn't make him any less intelligent or capable. I've personally extended my hand to those some find undesirable. Does this make me an enemy as well? We're all too closely tied now. Let's take our frustration out on the Ministry since most seem in agreement it's so terribly wrong. But let's focus on it being wrong because it hurts people, not because of some noble generalization about good and evil. I partook in the war to help people, not to be right about certain individuals or Houses or to be lauded and I KNOW most everyone else did too. So let's SEE that, yeah?
Oh, and tomorrow is my cousin's birthday. Be nice to him or I might very well react worse than Teddy give detentions. |
